Principal Jeffrey L. Zucker, LEED-AP AIA, Elected to Second Term as Grand Canyon Chapter AIA President

Jeffrey L. Zucker, LEED-AP AIAPRESCOTT, AZ-  For a second year in a row, Jeffrey L. Zucker, LEED-AP AIA will be the President of the Grand Canyon Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (GCC-AIA).

Geographically the largest chapter of the AIA in the nation, the range of the
GCC-AIA includes all communities in Arizona, north of Black Canyon City.  While notable, this also presents specific challenges to the chapter in terms of getting its membership together on a regular basis for meetings and events.

To address this issue, as well as the sustainability concerns of private automobile travel, Mr. Zucker has led an initiative to allow chapter members to participate in many of meetings via tele-conferencing technology– thus enabling the membership to help save fuel, time, and the environment.

Other meetings planned for the 2009 calendar year consist of a mix of educational and social programs, including the 2nd Annual AIA Luncheon at Arcosanti on May 8th, an AIA Chapter picnic in Flagstaff on July 11th, and an AIA sponsored exhibit booth at the Prescott Valley Energy Fair planned for September 26th and 27th.
